Designer Laura Patterson began creating accessories
for brides while managing a couture bridal salon in
the late 1980’s. With a love of mixed media artwork,
a distinct eye for detail and a passion for the
needle arts instilled in her by her Grandmother, she
soon discovered that bridal millinery was a perfect
match to her tastes and talent.
Her extensive background in the fashion industry
encouraged her to put her experience to work in
concert with her creative talent and launch Laura
Jayne Bridal Design. This was in 1992 in London,
Ontario, and over 15 years later, long since
re-located to Toronto, the company, and Laura’s
passion for design are ever stronger. Though the
business has grown and evolved, Laura still has a
close hand in the production of all of her designs,
with the support of a multi-faceted, skilled team.

Laura’s design sensibility stems from classic,
delicate, time honored looks to which she likes to
add a hint of the unexpected. She truly believes
that a bride’s accessories make the ensemble “her
own”, and strives to create versatile designs that
leave interpretation open to the wearer, thus
providing the tools for a personalized look. Style
is a statement; accessories are the punctuation, key
pieces that subtly shift the mood or tone of a look,
while never overpowering the wearer or the rest of
the ensemble. |

The Laura Jayne Bridal Design Studio is in Toronto,
where almost all of the products are hand-made by a
team of artisans of different specialties. For both
the bride and the retailers who carry the
collection, this allows great flexibility for
customizing designs. Components are sourced from
around the world; many are custom made, from the
highest quality available, with the hope that Laura
Jayne pieces will become treasured heirlooms to be
enjoyed well beyond the wedding day. |
